American fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg designed 20 rooms for the iconic and glamorous hotel Claridge’s in London’s Mayfair. As a decades-long client of the hotel, it had become her home away from home marking this design collaboration as a personal delight for von Furstenberg. Her travels were her muse drawing inspiration from Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Primary in her design scheme were bold-scale Chinese florals, travelling trunks, cocktail bars resembling jewelry boxes and Murano glass light fixtures. The hotel’s original architecture and old grand hotel style take on a modern shine with von Furstenberg’s exclusive Fall 2010 textile collection making its debut throughout the rooms.
